Matt Jones is the Chief Product Officer (CPO) of moovel North America. moovel N.A. works to bring mobility solutions for public and alternative transportation options to North American cities through three distinctive but complementary products: moovel transit, RideTap, and the moovel app. The company is part of moovel Group GmbH, a subsidiary of Daimler AG, the maker of Mercedes-Benz.
Prior to joining moovel, Jones was the Director of Future Technology at Jaguar Land Rover, served as a Board Member at the Linux Foundation, and acted as the President of the GENIVI Alliance, where he lead the push for open infotainment standards. At Jaguar Land Rover, he was responsible for the specification and roll out of the latest generation of Linux-based connected Infotainment systems. Leading large teams of software engineers and product professionals across a global operation, Jones oversaw the prototyping and production of both in-dash and mobile app solutions for vehicle routing, information and entertainment systems.
Prior to joining Jaguar Land Rover, Jones worked briefly in the telecommunications and aerospace industries after obtaining his masters degree in electronics and electrical engineering (specializing in embedded software) from the University of Birmingham in the United Kingdom.
When not evangelizing moovel’s technology, Jones can be found teaching SCUBA, snowboarding, and rockclimbing. Jones resides in Portland, Oregon.
