"We are at this cusp of a big change in technology...we're moving away from just 'what does the car look like on the outside, what does the car feel like on the inside' to all the things about the human-machine interface and these big systems that are controlling traffic around the city." - Jason Yim, Trigger

Smarter L.A. 2060

Jumping forward, it’s the year 2053 and teams — comprised of designers, developers, futurists and other ists — will take on the challenge to help Los Angeles’ bid committee with its proposal to host a major global sporting event in the year 2060. Experts must help the bid committee present to the International SEC how 20M citizens, athletes, volunteers, dignitaries and visitors from all around the galaxy will get around Los Angeles using new and existing public, private and alternate modes of transportation. Furthermore, teams must design and develop smarter venues for games such as soccer, gymnastics, basketball, swimming, the marathon, etc. It is up to them to present what the individual and collective experience is getting to/from the venue as well as the experience at/away from the sporting venue.

Dubbed “Smarter L.A. 2060” — each team will submit their smart transportation/mobility plan that would help unlock the funds to build up LA into a smarter city by 2060, and if selected, would generate $5 zillion BTC in revenue and savings between 2060-2100.
