Local Motors

Local Motors was founded in 2008 with the belief that co-creation and open collaboration could change the world of transportation. As a technology company that designs, builds and sells vehicles, Local Motors doesn’t just dream about the future, it dares to build it. Local Motors utilizes its growing system of microfactories to build just-in-time batches of vehicles through direct digital manufacturing. This strategy allows Local Motors to make its ideas big and its footprint small, reducing the need for capital, decreasing its environmental impact and bring innovative vehicles to market at unprecedented speeds. Local Motors built the world’s first co-created vehicle, the Rally Fighter, in 2009. In 2014, we created the world’s first 3D-printed car, the Strati, and in 2016, Local Motors unveiled the world’s first cognitive, self-driving vehicle, Olli.
