Jan Carlson

Jan Carlson is currently the Chairman, President and CEO of Autoliv, Inc. Mr. Carlson has put increased focus on developing the company’s sustainability strategy, steering the company to stay at the forefront of technology, innovation and manufacturing of high quality products that help customers save more lives in real-life traffic.

In 2016, Autoliv’s sales exceeded 10 billion dollars, resulting in a total sales growth of approximately 10%, double the growth of the global light vehicle production. Organic sales grew by over 7%. The additional sales growth was a result of recent M&A, joint venture activities and currency effects.

Mr. Carlson joined Autoliv in 1999 as President of Autoliv Electronics and held that position until April 2005, when he became Vice President of Engineering of Autoliv and a member of the Company’s Executive Committee. Mr. Carlson was appointed President of Autoliv Europe in 2006 and on April 1, 2007 he became President and CEO of Autoliv Inc., and also has been Chairman of the Board since May 2014. In addition to Autoliv’s board, Mr. Carlson serves on the board of Telefonaktiebolaget LM Ericsson, BorgWarner Inc., Teknikföretagen and The Confederation of Swedish Enterprise. Mr. Carlson has a Master of Science degree in Engineering Physics and Electrical Engineering from the University of Linköping in Sweden.
